Remy Martin Diamant Fine Champagne Cognac

Remy Martin has unveiled its new top-end Cognac produced exclusively for travel retailers – the Remy Martin Diamant Fine Champagne Cognac. Inspired by a faceted diamond nestling in a jewellery box, Diamant Fine Champagne Cognac will be launched initially in October at DFS stores in celebration of the leading travel retailer’s 50th anniversary.
The Remy Martin Diamant Fine Champagne Cognac contains rare grapes and flaunts traditional distillation methods and long maturation in Limousin oak casks. The Cognac uses 300 and 400 eaux-de-vie made exclusively with grapes from the Grande Champagne and Petite Champagne regions. The c ognac is bottled in a chiseled, glittering decanter topped with a cabochon stopper that features Rémy Martin’s centaur motif. The packing is intentionally designed to open up like a jewelry box.

L'Essence de Courvoisier

L’Essence de Courvoisier, developed by master blender Jean Marc Olivier, is an blend of over 100 rare eaux-de-vie from the Grande Champagne and Borderies cognac crus. Special reserves from the early 20th century, when Courvoisier introduced its highly acclaimed Napoleon cognac, offer depth, maturity and harmony to the blend, and are combined with eaux-de-vie from the 1970s and 80s. These include the introduction of a sophisticated method of distillation to improve the finesse and elegance of young spirit and the use of oak from the Jupilles forest in its barrel making, introduced by Courvoisier in 1986 and now used by the most prestigious Bordeaux wines.
The bottle has been hand-sculpted by over 30 craftsmen from Baccarat, the centuries-old crystal house. The decanter is suspended in a frame complete with a finely crafted crystal stopper, inspired by the signet rings given by Napoleon Bonaparte to commanders in his army in recognition of noble acts.
The global launch of L’Essence de Courvoisier takes place at Harrods in London's Knightsbridge, where a bottle of L’Essence de Courvoisier is to be the focal point of a striking display in the shop window throughout September. Set in a futuristic Napoleon-style drawing room, the decanter is featured in a cabinet designed by Courvoisier the Future 500 member Lee Broom. Visitors to the store will also see prominent advertising at the Egyptian escalator, in the newly refurbished menswear department and in the store magazine. It will be available to purchase in the wine shop.
At 42% ABV, L’Essence de Courvoisier is a rich and full-bodied cognac with hints of liquorice, dried plum and apricot, and offers a long finish. In the Courvoisier portfolio it sits between Initiale Extra, which retails at £250, and JS Succession at £3,500.
Maxxium UK’s marketing manager for Courvoisier, Janice McIntosh says: “L’Essence de Courvoisier is an important addition to our range which will attract global attention from connoisseurs who will enjoy the depth of flavour achieved by combining precious and rare cognacs from the last two centuries.
“The launch highlights Courvoisier’s position in the luxury spirits arena and is part of our ongoing commitment to driving value into the category and maintaining our position as the UK’s number one cognac.”
Courvoisier master blender Jean Marc Olivier says: “L’Essence de Courvoisier is an elegant and complex cognac which encapsulates the spirit of Courvoisier itself. It represents centuries of craftsmanship, our passion for cognac and our heritage, combined with our desire to be at the forefront of innovation, whether it be in distillation, ageing of wood or blending.”

LE VOYAGE DE DELAMAIN
A COLLECTOR’S COGNAC

The house of Delamain announces the arrival of ‘Le Voyage’, a rare and precious Cognac destined for collectors of the greatest eaux-de-vie. This exceptional Cognac is presented in a limited edition Baccarat decanter of which only five hundred have been produced worldwide.

What makes this Cognac extraordinary is the blend of extremely old eaux-de-vie that has been nurtured in the famous demi-johns in the Delamain cellars. These glass vessels protect the ancient spirit that has matured in to a veritable treasure. Such an elixir traces the history of Delamain and represents a living archive of the house.

Whilst the labels indicating the grand age of the Cognacs have faded, the perfect seal of each demi-john has prevented any evaporation. These treasures from the last century, inestimable and ultra rare should only be seen on exceptional occasions. ‘Le Voyage de Delamain’ invites you to discover the craft of another époque.

This Cognac remains in homage to the founder James Delamain, who as a young man returned to France over a century after his family had fled to Ireland. The descendants of James Delamain are still in attendance today, eager to discover the grand eaux-de-vie preserved by their ancestors.

The blend of cognacs reveals a host of subtle sensations: all the perfumes of Russian leather, the musky aroma of the tropics, the heady scent of tobacco from the Americas, of coffee from Africa heralding the spicy hints of the Far East and finally the bouquet of grapes from the hillsides of the Grande Champagne.

‘Le Voyage de Delamain’ is the heart of the jewel, housed in a magnificent Baccarat decanter with the purest curves and lines and surrounded by an exquisite leather casket evoking the traditional bellows used for luggage in times gone by.

‘Le Voyage de Delamain’ decanter contains 700ml of Cognac at 42% vol.

Louis XIII Black Pearl

Louis XIII meets Baccarat and gives birth to Louis XIII Black Pearl, an exclusive series produced from a century-old tierçon*, namely 786 carafes numbered from 001 to 786.

The Louis XIII carafe was originally a metal flask found by a peasant in 1850 on the site of the Battle of Jarnac, which in 1569 pitted the Catholics under the Duke of Anjou against the Protestants of the Prince of Condé. It is a complete mystery to whom the gourd in question belonged; it could have been the property of one of the two protagonists or one of their generals.

To reinvent the original purchased in 1850 by the Rémy Martin family and then placed in a Paris museum before its mysterious disappearance, Louis XIII is moving away from its traditional garb and looking to the future to adorn itself in unconventionally poetic finery. The alliance of Louis XIII and Baccarat is an unusual tête-à-tête between two sensibilities and two temporalities, proud of a secret alchemy.

Louis XIII Black Pearl is flamboyant and elusive, transcending time with a glamorous design combining classicism and modernity. A shower of sparkling stars caresses the pure crystal of the hand-blown carafe to create a futuristic crystal the colour of steel, like a liquid captured in its very substance, and evokes turbulent emotions in those who let their gaze become lost within.
The carafe ceaselessly plays with the light, which sweeps, rebounds and is immediately reflected back, creating pure flashes of silver, black, chrome, blue, anthracite and mahogany, like a black pearl, the pearl of queens. The light is fragmented and plays with its shadow. The optical illusions are infinite.

This crystal, which is unique in the world, harbours at its heart Louis XIII cognac, aged in the century-old tierçon C100-29, a fabulous witness to the Century that has gone by.
Installed in a cellar hidden in the Grollet Homestead since 1960, this extremely rare tierçon is one of the oldest tierçons from the family’s personal reserve.
It has aged and nourished the most precious of blends, that of the Louis XIII cognac, made up of some one thousand two hundred eaux-de-vie, some of which are over a hundred years old, originating from the most sought after slopes in the Grande Champagne region.

It is said that you need fifteen thousand pearl oysters to obtain the queen of pearls. The fruit of nature, time, work and the passion of men, Louis XIII Black Pearl is also of true rarity, which nothing or no-one could ever reproduce.
The union of Louis XIII cognac and black pearl crystal creates the quintessence of an unprecedented complementarity. The iridescent crystal conceals the Absolute essence of the cognac, revealing it to those who are able to look beyond the immediate.

In 1874, Paul-Emile Rémy Martin wanted to convey to the world the symbol of a certain idea of Art de Vivre à la française. In the decade following its creation, Louis XIII sparkled over the five continents, from New York to Shanghai, through Paris, Osaka and Cape Town.

Nicknamed the King of Cognacs because since its creation it has been the Cognac of Kings, Louis XIII reigned in the greatest royal and imperial courts in Europe, in Bade-Würtemberg or Saint-Petersburg. Served to Queen Elizabeth in 1938, it became England’s cognac of choice when Winston Churchill adopted it in 1948 during a stay in Aix-en-Provence.
Sailing in First Class on the Normandie liner in 1932 and on board the Orient-Express for its inaugural journey in 1929 to Constantinople, Louis XIII has always been the part of Great Men's lives.
For Churchill, de Gaulle, Doisneau and Tarantino, it is a king, the only one that may be approached, at any time and in any place, in Le Bernardin in New York or Raffles in Singapore.

Louis XIII Black Pearl pays homage, with 786 items that are unique in the world, to the intensity of the Century protected by the most advanced crystal of the millennium.

FRAPIN : The 1888 Vintage
The secret of the rarest elixirs

An exceptional carafe, a jewel of crystal preserving the secret of a rare vintage. The assemblage of this ‘Cuvée 1888’ is from Cognacs ageing in our ‘Paradise’ storehouse.
Some of these Cognacs are even older than 1888. They have aged for so many generations and are a testimony to the mastery of the late and great Monsieur Pierre Frapin.
Offered in a limited series of 1888 bottles, the carafe-type bottle was inspired as a homage to Pierre Frapin. In 1888, with a vineyard successfully rejuvinated, he prepared his participation at the Universal Exhibition, for which Gustave Eiffel had just completed his famous tower.
Pierre Frapin selected some of his ‘cuvées’ and received the Gold Medal at this famous exhibition. This Gold Medal is still on display and preciously so, in the Eiffel Storehouse of our Château.
An emotional encounter with the mythic Folle Blanche.
This assemblage of very old Grande Champagne Cognacs is in fact cognacs issued from the mythic Folle Blanche varietal, a varietal that has completely disappeared in modern times.
his Folle Blanche lives up to its myth: surprising floral aromas, it’s a Cognac both powerful and subtle. It is a celebration as it is a florishing achievement of ancestral know-how.
A rich palette of sensations.
Of great distinction, this Cuvée develops a somptuous and profound sensuality. Its aromatic palette is astonishingly complex: dried fruits, nuts, raisins, prunes, candied oranges, and towering waves of torrified cacao, tonka beans and coffee. The heart of its character is a sublime harmony of vineyard flowers, a flash of sents of the lime tree, pepper, soft spices, white honey, vanilla, leather, and tropical woods.
The Astonishing Crystal carafe.
For this historic Cuvée, Frapin Cognac has commissioned the design of an original carafe of elegant and pure form. Produced by the Cristalleries Royales de Champagne, the carafe is decorated by a 24 carat golden line. Its spiral shape recalls Cognac’s slow ageing through time or the preparatory turning of cognac in a glass. The Etains d’Anjou created this golden line as also they did the golden cork.
The refinement of a somptuous Gift Box.
Presented in a highly refined Gift Box of a ‘Cognac cellar’ form.
The wood textures recall the warm atmopsheres of Cognac and Habana cigars.
Its base contains a small draw where one will find a reproduction of a 1888 watch.
Openning the watch a special perfume is released, ideal to accompany tastings.
