Bache-Gabrielsen is marking a milestone as it exclusively debuts a first-of-its kind expression to the United States: American Oak – the first cognac ever to be aged in American oak barrels. Master Blender Jean-Philippe Bergier worked closely with the company’s cooperage partner to determine the best oak for this particular cognac. The liquid spends a minimum of six months aging in brand new Tennessee oak barrels, which gives the final product distinct character, with aromas of ripe apricot, pear and vanilla and lingering flavors of coconut, caramel and chocolate. “We’ve spent over a century perfecting our taste and expanding our offerings,” explains company president, Hervé Bache-Gabrielsen. “Bringing my family business to a critical market like the United States is a milestone for the brand, and we felt releasing American Oak was not only fitting for the occasion, but is evidence of our mission to consistently innovate while still honoring the tradition of this cherished spirit.”
