Michel Bureau

Winegrower from father to son since 1893, in Petite Champagne

Cognac Michel Bureau & Fils

In the Bureau family, winegrowers have been passed down from father to son since 1893, and not a year goes by without the still being lit since 1914!

Situated near Barbezieux, the 16 hectare estate produces a range of cognacs from 3 years to almost 90 years of ageing, made exclusively from the Petite Champagne terroir.

Within this independent family structure, Ghislaine and Jean-Luc do everything from A to Z, with particular attention paid to the ageing of their cognacs.

Today, their son Olivier, the 5th generation, is breathing new life into the business by working to "give back to the land its true value and life".

The farm, which is a member of CIVAM (Centre d'Initiatives pour Valoriser l'Agriculture et le Milieu rural), has been working for several years on a more economical, autonomous and united viticulture.
